Ralston Deck Builder's Service Area

Picture of a newly constructed enclosed patio in La Vista Nebraska
Our Omaha Deck Company has developed many local ties throughout the years. The Omaha area is where we call home, and we have a massive amount of gratitude towards all of the different towns and cities located in our area. Our deck builders have done dozens of projects in Ralston, Nebraska, and we wanted to take some time to highlight the unique aspects of this town.
The Ralston townsite was established in 1907 after a land purchase of 282.7 acres owned by an Omaha newspaper editor named George Miller. Ralston was later incorporated as a village in Douglas County in 1912. Ralston had its fair share of difficulties early on as an incorporated village. One example is the easter tornado that left massive devastation to the area on March 23, 1913. A few years later, in 1934, a large fire destroyed over half a city block, forcing Ralston to declare bankruptcy.
Ralston is one of the smaller towns located in the Omaha area, but there are a number of attractions, parks, and activities to find here. Ralston has three local parks that many residents and visitors use on a daily basis.
  • Ralston Park has two baseball fields, two softball fields, grills, restrooms, picnic tables, and two covered pavilions. This park is a popular location for sporting events and general park activities.
  • Oak Park has been recently updated with a new walking path, gazebo, and benches for seating. The park boasts many beautiful areas and sightseeing opportunities for local residents and visitors. There are no playground or picnic areas here.
  • Ponderosa Park is regarded as a local secret, featuring picnic tables, playgrounds, shelters, and walking paths. The trail runs from South 78th and Washington, or you can also access it from 76th Circle and Madison Street.
Ralston, Nebraska, is also known for it's other various forms of local entertainment and activities such as:
The Ralston Arena: The Ralson Arena is one of the Omaha area's largest sporting events and concert venues. It is also the location of the Omaha Rollergirls and the Omaha Chargers basketball program. Public ice skating is also offered here, so if you have a pair of ice skates, head on over!
Fun-Plex
Fun-Plex is rated as Nebraska's largest water park and rides facility. Fun-Plex has many thrill rides for adults as well as numerous rides for kids. From go-carts, slick tracks, rollercoasters, and water slides, Fun-Plex is the perfect location for the whole family!

Ralston Community Theatre
The Ralston Community Theatre has been providing entertainment to the Omaha area since 1979. The theatre was initially intended to be the entertainment cornerstone for the 4th of July festivities for the Ralston area. After its initial debut, it was recommissioned to carry out the task of furthering the art of theatre and music in the Ralston community.

As you can see, the Ralston area has much to offer, and we are grateful to have loyal and longstanding customers in the Ralston area. If you find yourself in this hidden gem of Nebraska, be sure to stop and check out some of the area's local attractions.
